  1. My Octopus Teacher – Netflix
Not specific to being a woman. More like being a human 😊

I have started watching a series on Hotstar: Work in Progress… it’s different. I am enjoying as it’s opening up my horizons on gender.

  2. Gayatri Srivastava

Netflix has a new movie called ‘Paglait’ starring Sanya Malhotra and Ashutosh Rana among others. Though the movie starts on a sad note, it is not at all depressing. It is in fact uplifting, empowering and even funny at times. Do watch it Aparna and let me know if you felt the same.

You could also watch Alankrita Shrivastava’s ‘Lipstick under my burkha’ and ‘Bombay Begums’.

Found one timepass – The Bold Type | Actually wholesome and a lot of positive women role-models…

  4. I loved Hidden Figures – while the women did not get enough recognition at their time, the fact that they made a movie about them and their contribution is encouraging.

Unorthodox is depressing at one level, but extremely inspiring by the end – even more so when you realise that it is a true story.

Axone is a lovely poignant tale with strength of female friendship at the core of it.

Never Have I ever is one of the few teen dramas that I actually liked and could relate to. Maitreyi Ramakrishnan as Devi is a very strong character.

Bombshell also starts out quite depressing and toxic, but there is hope at the end when women start speaking out and standing up for each other.

Anandi Gopal is a gem in Marathi that is one of the most inspiring movies I have watched in a long while.

If you watch any of these, let me know what you think.
