I’m in my early 40s and I was diagnosed with a small fibroid a couple of years back. Now my periods have become really heavy. Is something wrong with me? What should I do?

Hi Aparajita.  Fibroids are outgrowths from the uterus/ womb which are dynamic grow every year. Heavy bleeding can happen due to fibroid if it has grown to a considerable size or if it’s in the active layer of the womb. You need to get a USG done to check for these. If it’s not because of fibroids, you might have a hormonal imbalance causing the heavy flow. Whatever it is, it’s best not to ignore it and show it to your gynecologist

Sorry no advise here, your gyneac would be the best person to check with. We all might have varied experiences with heavy periods but best to listen to the expert.
