GalaxShe is a platform for advancing women’s voice and leadership to accelerate career equality. We are working towards ensuring women’s full and effective participation at all levels of decision-making.
GalaxShe has its roots in the research on gender diversity globally. Research shows that women in leadership roles make companies more profitable by fostering innovation and cultivating creativity and inclusivity. When there’s an absence of female representation in leadership, it can lead to unsafe working environments, unequal pay scales and job & promotion opportunities being limited or denied altogether for women.
A large percentage of women drop out of the corporate employment pipeline between junior and mid-levels and at an even higher rate at executive levels. There is a plethora of research that shows that bias—whether deliberate or unconscious—is holding women back in the workplace. It makes it harder for women to get hired and promoted and negatively impacts their day-to-day work experiences. Patriarchal societal norms also hinder women’s agency, mobility and freedom to work. So does the disproportionate burden of unpaid work and unpaid care work on women.
GalaxShe is working towards helping women ignite their aspirations, build skills for leadership roles and boost confidence in order to take up senior decision-making roles in organisations. We also work with organisations to help build a more conducive environment and create opportunities which will result in better career experience for men and women.

Aspirations
It is a myth that women don't aspire to leadership roles. Their career experience and, at times, societal norms make them downsize their aspirations. GalaxShe inspires women to aspire for decision-making and leadership roles
Skills
The key leadership challenges for women tend to be managing up and across the organisation, strategic thinking, negotiating adeptly, and influencing others. GalaxShe develops skills for mid-career women – skills that prepare them for staying in line function roles and moving up to executive roles
Confidence
Unconscious bias in the organisation affects confidence and motivation for women. Having access to mentors and sponsors open doors to information and opportunities. GalaxShe provides tools to women and organisations on mentoring, coaching and sponsoring to enable the support and informal networks essential for success.
Opportunities
GalaxShe engages with organisational leadership to influence conversation on career equality. The objective is to put the spotlight on gender data, with a focus on women in leadership. Also, build awareness of the conscious and unconscious bias in the talent management process, from recruitment to performance evaluation.
